Wow, that's expensive!

Yeah, I know. Here's why:

#1: There's a lot of preparation that goes into the coating. This is important and required in order to assure the coating properly works and lasts. The vehicle must be meticulously cleaned. That means a thorough wheel cleaning, hand wash, clay bar, and chemical decontamination. This is then followed by a polishing step that removes a lot of swirl marks, scratches, and (arguably as important) cleans the pores of the clear coat so the coating can properly bond. No residual wax or polishing oil can remain.

#2: We work with premium ceramic coatings. These require extensive knowledge and training to even purchase, let alone install them. I mean, you can pull a tooth at home, but most of us are going to a dentist that hones his or her craft.

#3: Let's run numbers. If you're the kind of person that is interested in a ceramic coating, you're probably the kind of person that either personally maintains their vehicle or pays a professional to do it.

Scenario #1: You pay to use a car wash every week. Maybe you have a package that costs you $25 per month for unlimited washes. That's $300 annually to scratch and damage your vehicle. So now it's dull and needs a polish. A quality single step polish will typically cost about $400. So that's $700 per year, and your clear coat is being damaged by a car wash and likely oxidation. Multiply that by 4 years and you have $2800, dead clear coat, and scratched paint. OR spend HALF of that on a professional ceramic coating that makes your vehicle MUCH easier to wash, PRESERVES the clear coat, and protects from oxidation. Not to mention the insane gloss your vehicle will have with every wash.

Scenario #2: You wash and wax your vehicle yourself. No one does it better, right? Plus it's somewhat therapeutic. So once a month, you force yourself to make time to wash and wax. An average enthusiast will take about 4 or 5 hours on a good wash and wax. Let's call it 4. That's 48 hours per year. If you value your time at $20/hour (you're worth more than that, but for argument's sake) that's $960 per year. Over the course of 4 years, that's 192 hours (8 full 24 hour days, or 24 full 8 hour work days) and $3,840. OR, spend a fraction of that on a ceramic coating, and get the look of a new vehicle with every wash that will take an average of about 30 minutes. Spend more time golfing or with the family.

In summary, yes, ceramic coatings are expensive. But, you are paying a professional to save you a lot of time and money in the long run. Your vehicle will look brand new every time you wash it, and washing it will take a fraction of the time you used to spend on it. Ceramic coatings preserve the thin clear coat to keep it shiny and clean for its duration.

And if you're not the type of person that takes pride in keeping your vehicle clean and looking nice, I have to be honest with you. A ceramic coating is probably a waste of your money. They're meant to save time and make keeping your vehicle in great shape easier, NOT the "end all, be all" that never requires maintenance.

Why is everyone switching to Ceramic Coatings?

  • Ceramic coatings do a phenomenal job of keeping your vehicle cleaner, and in better condition longer
  • A ceramic coating creates a hardened shell that helps protect against light scratches, water spots, and bug etchings
  • The ultra-smooth surface creates un-paralleled gloss and makes water bead and roll off, making your vehicle much easier to clean
  • Your vehicle will be MUCH easier to clean, and will no longer require long hours applying wax
  • Professional grade ceramic coatings last YEARS, not months
  • Your vehicle will be protected against oxidation, which causes the paint to fade and become dull, and eventually fail and look chalky.

Never Wax Again!

Wax just doesn't cut it anymore. It's tedious and time consuming to apply. Use too much and you end up with white residue in all the cracks and all over the trim. It needs re-applied every month or so. And it doesn't offer much protection. It's time to stop using a wax designed in 1910 for the Model T generation. Clear coat wasn't even invented yet!

Your clear coat is only approximately as thick as the wrapper on a stick of gum, and gets thinner every year. A Ceramic Coating provides an actual measurable layer ON TOP OF the existing clear coat. This allows the coating to absorb much of any typical damage that occurs to your clear coat such as scratches, marring, bird doo and bug etchings, and chemical damage.

The incredibly smooth surface the coating creates allows for easy maintenance and self-cleaning properties, all while creating astounding, jaw-dropping gloss.

You invest a lot in your vehicle. Stop allowing damage to occur to your vehicle that can be prevented! No more filthy exterior, wasting weekends cleaning and waxing. Don't miss out on what Ceramic Coatings have to offer.

Schedule an appointment or call us at (517)366-8912 to get started enjoying your ride, not just working on it. You'll be the talk of the neighborhood and impress friends and family with how amazing your vehicle looks all the time.

What our customers are saying

I was hesitant to spend the money on a ceramic coating, but I'm so glad I did. It's been 3 years and it's still so easy to wash.
